Project HIEDI – Hearing Impairment, Early Detection and Intervention
Project HIEDI was established to see the introduction of a nationwide programme to screen newborns for hearing loss, enabling access to early intervention services. Introduction of such a programme is important as it will remedy New Zealand’s late age of detection for congenital hearing loss.
