In this episode we talk to Prof Suzanne Purdy, Head of the school of Psychology at the University of Auckland. A pioneering speech communication researcher, Professor Purdy has been researching communication disorders for more than 20 years and helped found the Speech Science programmes at the University. She is a passionate believer in the critical importance of communication as a key life skill.

 
 
 
 

Episode 3: ENT SURGEON BILL BABER

In this episode we talk to Bill Baber, a cochlear implant surgeon with the Northern Cochlear Implant Program. Along with Ron Goodey, Bill played and integral part in the establishment of New Zealand’s first Cochlear Implant programme. Working with a team of dedicated professionals to restore or develop the sense of hearing has easily made this the highlight of Bill’s career in ENT Surgery.
