Living guidelines for cochlear implantation in adults

Currently, there are no universal guidelines for Adult Cochlear Implantation. To address this problem, the global cochlear implant community, including; researchers, surgeons, audiologists, associated hearing health professionals, providers, suppliers and cochlear implant users, have come together to develop a set of living guidelines for cochlear implantation in adults.

The initiative is being coordinated and led by the team at Adult Hearing, building on the publication; Unilateral Cochlear Implants for Severe, Profound, or Moderate Sloping to Profound Bilateral Sensorineural Hearing Loss (Buchman et al.).

The project aims to create living practice guidelines that can be adapted and adopted in each country to optimise the care for adults eligible for cochlear implantation.
